Charlotte, we love your Instagram feed and the way you mix colors, art prints and interior accessories. What are your tips when it comes to wall colors?

I like to have a theme of colours across all my rooms, so I started off with a colour palette of greens, pinks, blues and yellows and decorated the rooms out from that colour palette.

It ensures you have consistency across the rooms in your home.
I usually keep to plain walls where I want to have lots of colourful decor and wall art and bolder walls where there is less decor.

I also incorporated painted ceilings to bring a bolder look in our living room and bedroom to give a cosy feeling to the rooms.

We love your gallery walls in your home! What are the steps to make it look great?

Thank you! I first mapped out my space on the computer and collected images of prints I liked to see how they would look together. I would use prints and wall art of different sizes to add interest.

Try to keep similar gaps between frames and if the prints are very colourful, I would use frames in one colour so that it does not look too busy.

If someone wants to upgrade their “apartment styling” what is an easy DIY - that you think can change a lot?

I would say removable wallpaper or paneling. Removable wallpaper is renter-friendly and can add a lot of personality quickly. Paneling is a fun DIY that can make a space look more expensive straight away and add some interest to your walls.

We love your kitchen :-) Could you tell us how to make a checkerboard in the kitchen?

It was removable wallpaper from Livettes Wallpaper, it took about 15 minutes to put up. You roll it out and use a squeegee to ensure there are no bubbles and use a stanley knife to cut the edges off.

What cool project would you like to try out next?

I want to do some more DIY shelves, as I love shelf styling and some furniture upcycling.

Thank you so much, Charl!
