Kathrina, we love your Instagram feed and interior style. All colors from pastel to bright and the combination of modern and vintage pieces are super cool. How do you plan these color combinations?
“I am a very spontaneous person who enjoys to try out things, especially with interior at our home. Often I have a fixed idea in my head which I have to then try out and see if it works. I also have a color palette in which I usually move and so often already know if it will work.”
We absolutely like your rugs. How to choose the right rug for each room? :)
“I have a huge weakness for carpets as they most likely/often give a room a certain something. At home I like it when the carpet gets a certain presence and therefore becomes an eye-catcher. I like both cuddly Berber but also rugs that are simply practical and easy to handle with small children.”
Do you have 3 top tips how to organize and decorate kids rooms?
“I love/adore children rooms with a focus on color! I think a room gets cozier if it’s not mixed wildly but in a color scheme. In addition, I like organizing and tidiness. At my home I use baskets and cabinets that close and thus immediately add a little peace and tranquility to the room.”
When it comes to wall colors, what are the steps you take?
“Often I do not think much, because mostly I know exactly what I want and how it should be. But it is helpful to order color samples to see how a color finally works in the room with the prevailing light.”
We love pillow covers, sheet covers and blankets - just everything which is cozy. Where do you get yours?
“I have a weakness for beautiful textiles. They create coziness and often add the last necessary fun splash/dash of color. I often find them in my small favourite stores and prefer Scandinavian labels like Hay, Broste copenhagen, Ferm living or Fine little day.”
Where do you start when you redecorate a room?
“I think that most times it's enough to change a little something to create a new feeling at home like moving a piece of furniture or add some fresh air through color”
What are some “cool interior objects” that can be missed?
“I love our Studio Schneid lamp in the hallway but also my special boobs nightstand!.”
