Lindsey, we love your fashion and interior design Instagram feed - your color combinations are absolutely amazing! Can you tell us 3 important steps when it comes to colorful walls?

Thank you so much, I'm so happy you like them.

I would start with a colour you love and then do a bit of research into the colour. Colours are very emotive and can bring a lot of atmosphere into a space, blue for example, is calming and great in a bedroom to promote rest and sleep. So I would check if it suits what you want to use the room for

I would also have a look at Pinterest, create a moodboard and see if any patterns emerge from that. I love using Pinterest so much, I'm obsessed. For me, contrasting colours spark a lot of joy so I would see what's showing up on my moldboard.

I'm planning a project at the moment and I can see from Pinterest that I'm pinning a lot of images with red, blue and green colour schemes, so I think this is definitely going to be the colour combo I'm going to go with.

Where do you find all those cool interior decor object? Any online shops?

I tend to see what I can find on Instagram, there are lots of independent homeware shops on there and independent makers. It always feels good to support small businesses. Otherwise, my go-to is usually Etsy or Oliver Bonas - I love Oliver Bonas loads.

How do you create a beautiful, and sustainable tablescape?

I like to use a lot of colour and use different heights, so tall candlesticks and flowers are great for this. Flowers are always really good at making it look really beautiful and I will usually dot seasonal fruit around the table for decoration. This is sustainable because you can eat them after!

I like to get creative with napkins and napkin holders, I've been known to cut up tea towels and use hair scrunchies before. But ribbons from parcels, twigs from the garden can all be perfect for a tablescape. Just let your imagination go with this one.

What is a “must have home object” that every interior lover should have?

I think you just have to make sure you're around things you really love so I think it's personal. I don't think there can be one size fits all when it comes to interiors and interior objects. Your home should be your own wonderland that brings you peace, joy and comfort.

How do you combine colorful walls with furniture?

I usually start with a colour I love and go from there. In my house, lots of my furniture is very budget friendly which means it's quite plain so I feel like the walls really do all the work when it comes to bringing my vision to life. It would be great to invest in more pieces eventually, but this was our first home and we had no furniture and a small budget when we first moved in.
