Steph Kaluza: Dreamy Interior Vibes

Steph Kaluza is a master of interior colors and light. At least this is what we thought - and immediately knew that she had to be part of this blog. On her Instagram account @ohsorented, she shares beautiful views of her even more beautiful rental apartment.

Known for her “bedside shelfies” and a specific dreamy vibe, Steph was so kind to answer some of our questions about how she does it. We were curious about Steph’s interior tips when it comes to styling your own “still life pictures”.

Et voilà: Here comes our interview with Steph!

Everyone loves the bedroom and bedside shelfies that you post! Can you share some styling tips of how you make them look so great?

“My tips for a good bedside shelfie are:“

  • Start by picking three complementary colours that will create the main colour palette.

  • Choose items with varying heights, textures and also product types - e.g. candles, vases, prints and mirrors.

  • Pick items that bring you joy as they will be the focus point of the room.

In one of your captions, you wrote: You can never have too many candles, plants or pink mugs. Where do you get them from? (Maybe except for the plants :-))

“Some of my favourite candle brands are Summer Morning Studios, Kirrou and Ajouter. For pretty mugs, I love to look on Anthroplogie and Ikea - they both always have loads of different designs and colours at affordable prices.“

What are some of your places to shop interior online? (Maybe not the big names, but rather some small gems)

“Some great small business and interior shops I love to buy from are Sonny Day Studios, Our Lovely Goods, Sass & Belle and Hay.“

Are there any creative ideas that you’d like to explore in the future?

“I am obsessed with those tiled side tables. I believe you can buy them online but I would love to try to create one myself using pastel pink or sage green tiles - I can imagine myself using it as a cute coffee making station.“
